To begin, could you share your thoughts on the current state of the Canadian education system, considering recent changes and challenges?
Certainly. The Canadian education system has shown resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to providing quality education despite the challenges of recent times. The pandemic has accelerated the adoption of digital tools and online learning, challenging traditional models. While this has presented obstacles, it also opens opportunities for innovation and improved accessibility.
Speaking of challenges, what do you see as some of the major challenges facing higher education institutions in Canada, and how is Queen’s University addressing them?
One of the significant challenges is financial sustainability. The balance between maintaining academic excellence and accessibility while managing budget constraints is an ongoing concern.
