The Pinyon Plain mine is a high-grade uranium deposit located underground in the US. It has all the necessary permits to commence production and is a compact and easy-to-reclaim site, with a very small environmental impact. The mine could produce up to one year’s worth of Arizona’s electricity on just 17 acres of land. We plan to move forward with production as soon as there is an upswing in uranium and rare earth prices.

How does Energy Fuels address the concerns of the local community regarding the Pinyon Plain mine?

We understand that Pinyon Plain has been a controversial site since its construction in the 1980s. We are committed to being responsible neighbors in the area and are actively engaging with the local community to address any concerns they may have. We will be doing further outreach with the Havasupai tribe to ensure that our operations are conducted in a way that is respectful and responsible.

How is Energy Fuels leading efforts towards the green transition?

Energy Fuels is committed to sustainability and is taking significant steps towards becoming a leader in the green transition. Our recycling programs have allowed us to recover 6 million pounds of uranium that would have otherwise been lost to disposal. We anticipate making extraordinary progress in the next 12 months. Energy Fuels is committed to advancing its rare earth program faster than any other company in the world. We have already restarted uranium production in the US and are on track to become the largest producer of uranium in the country. Additionally, we are in the process of closing a transaction to acquire a heavy mineral sand deposit in Brazil.
