What opportunities do you see for growth within the construction industry?
Within the sector, we identify abundant prospects for advancement. Imperquimia has undergone a significant transformation over the past three years, nearly doubling our sales figures and cash flows, a notable achievement considering the constraints we once faced in expanding sales beyond a certain threshold. As a Mexican company, our unique advantage lies in our dedicated development department, constantly innovating to address specific project demands. This proactive approach drives our quest for opportunities. Additionally, our network of 21 stores serves as distribution hubs, facilitating accessibility for end consumers. These outlets essentially function as warehouses, supplying various distributors to swiftly meet emerging needs. Presently, we’re striving to establish operations in strategic locations like Los Cabos, Baja California, and other targeted areas. Furthermore, our collaborations with construction firms constructing hotels enable us to create bespoke products efficiently and cost-effectively, meeting their exclusive requirements.
How have you navigated the challenge of ensuring timely product delivery?
Our success in ensuring timely product delivery is attributed to the prowess of our development department. We maintain comprehensive control over our materials inventory, leveraging knowledge of availability, stock levels, and pricing. An example of our innovation is the Urelastic 450, a product exclusive to Imperquimia. Its availability in Mexico underscores our commitment to catering to local demands and swiftly responding to dynamic situations.
What initiatives are in the pipeline for the upcoming year?
Our focus for the upcoming year revolves around the development of specialized products known as grouts. For instance, our Grout 1,200, uniquely formulated for the Felipe Ángeles International Airport project, boasts unparalleled resistance not found in any other Mexican market product, making it particularly suitable for large-scale endeavors. The goal is to continue innovating and introducing differentiated products in 2023, creating value where competition lacks. Engineer Héctor Mario Gómez Galvarriato, our founder, has pioneered numerous products, some of which undergo meticulous fine-tuning before market release, ensuring precise applications that align with identified needs. We’re also committed to environmentally friendly practices, with 70% of our buckets currently made from recycled materials, an aspect we’re eager to enhance further.
Your portfolio is primarily in Mexico. Are there plans for international expansion?
Indeed, we’re making headway in Latin America, forging partnerships in Guatemala while collaborating with a client poised to distribute our products across the region. This upcoming year, our partner intends to expand internationally, and we’re diligently assessing the specific requirements of these areas. Should a suitable product be absent from our offerings, we’re poised to develop it. We’ve had an enduring relationship with a company in Puerto Rico for 25 years, and our recent heightened activity signifies increased engagement and volume in operations.
