Can you give an update on Marmotek’s operations?

Currently, Marmotek is actively operating several mines including chromite, copper, lead, and zinc. Our main production project is the Denizli/Beyağaç chrome site where we have been producing high grade lumpy and concentrate since 2015. We have also completed surface exploration at the Eskişehir chrome site and aim to operate the mine and start production in 2019. Our copper, lead, and zinc mine in Çanakkale, Çataltepe region became operational in Q4 2017.

What are the main advantages of Marmotek’s chromite?

The chrome ore produced in our Denizli underground mine pit has the following qualifications: minimum 52% Cr2O3, chrome iron ratio (Cr/Fe) 3.8%, less than 4% SiO2, and size at 0-10 mm is 10%. Many ferrochrome plants are interested in our lumpy and concentrate due to its specifications. We are aware that ferrochrome plants are changing their production structure with new technology to use more

Can you describe the safety measures implemented at Marmotek’s operations?

At Marmotek, we prioritize the safety of our employees by providing detailed information about the work and occupational training before they begin work. We also ensure that the appropriate personal protective equipment is given to employees based on the work to be done. For underground workers, we constantly ventilate the furnace and make gas measurements, which are recorded by responsible mining engineers at every shift. We have established an emergency path from the quarry entrance to working areas in case of an emergency. Our employees are monitored with personnel monitoring systems, and we immediately intervene if there are any possible negative effects. Our company’s main principle is that “Nothing is More Important or Urgent Than Work Safety
